Course Title:
Advances in the Prevention and Management of Invasive Fungal Infections
Complete lectures from the satellite symposium preceding the 40th annual meeting of the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA), October 24, 2002 Chicago, Illinois



Target Audience:

This program is intended for physicians and other health care professionals who are interested in the management of invasive fungal infections. No specific knowledge other than familiarity with the principles of microbiology will be required for successful participation in this activity.

Objectives:

Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to:
  • Understand the toxicities and interactions of the discussed anti-fungal agents
  • Understand prevention and empiric treatment of invasive fungal infections in cancer patients
  • Explain the current therapy for invasive candidiasis
  • Understand the current and innovative therapies for prevention of invasive fungal infections in hematopoietic cell transplant recipients

This software, which may already installed on your computer, will likely be one or more of the following: Macromedia Flash, Apple Quicktime, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Powerpoint, Windows Media Player, and Real Networks Real One Player.


Hardware requirements are a PC or Mac with internet connectivity. For audio enhanced activities you will need a sound card and speakers.
