The Practical Approach to Echinocandin Therapy
Lectures from the symposium at Focus On Fungal Infections 14
March 24-26, 2004 New Orleans, Louisiana



Target Audience:

This activity is intended for clinicians and researchers interested in practical uses for antifungal therapies. Persons participating should have a working knowledge of basic microbiology and/ or infectious diseases.

Objectives:

After successfully completing this program, participants should be able to:
  • Identify the clinical science of echinocandins and the ways in which echinocandin therapy can be utilized in clinical practice
  • Recognize the importance of laboratory involvement in disease management
  • Understand the latest efforts in echinocandin therapy toward resistant candidiasis
  • Compare efficacy of echinocandin therapy with other therapies for candidiasis
